The A.R.C. Short for Aluminium, Rubber and Cork was inspired by objects encountered in the Hutongs, and was best known through photographic work "bastard chairs" by Michael Wolf.
Furniture commonly found in the hutongs have no design deadline. Different scrap materials are reconfigured over time to add features and stabilize structure for almost any sitting needs. The removable back support band allows the chair to be stackable and easily stowed. The cork seat pad is available with an optional weather-resistant clear coat for outdoor use.
